Job SummaryThe College of Education at Savannah State University is seeking part‑time faculty applications for the academic year 2026‑2027. Courses may be taught in the following areas:
- Elementary Education
- Middle Grades Social Studies
- Middle Grades Science
- Middle Grades Math
- Middle Grades English Language Arts
- Teaching Exceptional Learners
- Plan, organize and communicate instruction in ways that encourage and stimulate student learning.
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies that facilitate and promote student success.
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college and university policies.
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
- Submit immediate alerts in EAB when students are at risk.
- Submit mid‑term and final grade reports by the set University deadlines as well as completed course assessment forms at the end of each semester.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in regard to student interaction and information.
- Comply with all university academic policies.
- Master's degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in one of the aforementioned content areas.
- Teaching certification/teaching endorsement in content area.
- Post secondary teaching experience.
- Applicants must attach a list containing the name, email address and telephone number of three (3) professional references (e.g. supervisor, colleague, mentor).
- Applicants must attach transcripts to the application. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Official transcript will be required upon hire.
- Applicants must attach a narrative indicating their teaching interest (e.g. courses taught, topics of expertise, etc.). Please attach as "Teaching Philosophy."
- Applicant must attach a copy of their teaching certificate/applicable teaching endorsement. Please attach as "additional document."
