Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred: Advanced degree(s). - Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Middle Grades Social Science or History (6‑12).

- Virtual Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the virtual platform, in written and oral form, including electronic media.
- Use a variety of programs and software applications to complete instructional and administrative tasks.
- Participate in professional learning to enhance ability to provide engaging online instruction, including required professional learning that leads to a virtual teaching endorsement.
- Clearly articulate deadlines, schedules, and procedures to students and parents to ensure timely completion of coursework.
- General Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.
- Interact in a professional manner with students and parents.
- Be available to students and parents for conferences according to district policies.
- Facilitate home‑school communication by holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications.
- Maintain confidentiality of students and student records.
- Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
- Comply with school, district, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
- Conduct assigned classes at scheduled times.
- Enforce regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
- Be punctual.
- Provide adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teacher.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records, file reports promptly.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities in accordance with school policy.
- Comply with conditions stated in the contract of employment.
- Model correct use of language, both oral and written.
- Demonstrate accurate and up‑to‑date knowledge of content.
- Implement designated curriculum.
- Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
- Act in a professional manner and assume responsibility for the total school program, its safety, and good order.
- Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assume responsibility for supervising students in out‑of‑class settings.
- Perform other duties as required based on the specific content area taught.
- Plan and coordinate purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals, other supporting staff, and volunteers, and provide input to administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.
- Perform other duties as required by the district, the school, or student need.
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will consist of 190 days per year. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience.
Salary$52,839 to $109,029 per year.
