Job Description- Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
- Prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template.
- Assesses students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements.
- May attend professional development training required for specific classroom or online course delivery.
- Teaches Cosmetology courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry.
- Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Cosmetology.
- Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success.
- Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
- Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.
- Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited post‑secondary institution or equivalent.
- At least three of the past seven years of field experience.
- Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers Master Cosmetologist License.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers Cosmetology Instructor License.
- Cosmetology teaching experience.
- Associate degree in cosmetology or related field.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
All adjunct positions are part‑time, temporary positions. Hours are offered based on student enrollment each semester. Adjunct positions do not include benefits or a promise of future full‑time employment. All courses are face‑to‑face unless otherwise indicated.
Special Instructions to ApplicantsTo be considered for the Adjunct Pool, applicants must upload transcripts, resumes, and certifications with their application. Adjunct Pool applications are required each academic year. Adjuncts are paid on a per‑contact‑hour basis. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday during both morning and evening hours. Dual enrollment courses are offered Monday through Friday. Campus locations for this pool include Carroll, Coweta‑CEC, Douglas‑CCI, Franklin, LaGrange, and Murphy Campuses.
