Job DescriptionPRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for each student assigned to the class.
REPORTS TO: Principal
WORK DAYS: 190

- Provides Instruction:
1) teaches at an appropriate instructional level;
2) provides content development;
3) builds for transfer. - Assesses and Encourages Student Progress: promotes engagement, monitors progress, responds to progress levels, supports students.
- Manages the Learning Environment: uses time efficiently, maintains effective physical setting, maintains appropriate student behavior.

Duties and Responsibilities:
communicates effectively with stakeholders via virtual platform, uses software applications, participates in professional learning for virtual endorsement, articulates deadlines, schedules, and procedures. - General Teacher Duties: follows professional practices, interacts professionally, available for conferences, facilitates communication, maintains confidentiality, cooperates with staff; complies with regulations, conducts classes, enforces conduct, punctual, prepares substitute plans, maintains records, attends meetings; demonstrates professional practices in teaching: correct usage of language, up-to-date knowledge, implements curriculum, maintains lesson plans, assigns tasks; acts professionally and assumes responsibility for program safety and order;
protects records; supervises students off‑class. - Other duties: content‑area competitions, after‑hours activities, paraprofessional coordination, district or school needs.
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. Work calendar: 190 days. Salary determined based on level of certification and allowable experience.
Physical and Sensory DemandsClassroom: prolonged standing/walking, bending, stooping, lifting. Reading, listening, writing, speaking required.
Job Requirements- Education:
Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution (preferred advanced degree). - Certification:
Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in History (Grades 6-12).
