Principal Responsibilities:

The Jewish Educational Alliance (JEA) is seeking an outgoing, creative, compassionate, and enthusiastic Youth Program Coordinator to plan, facilitate, and oversee engaging programs for school-age children. This position will help lead Before & After School Care, Days at the J, Camp Savannah, Kids' Night Out, Youth Sports, Music Lessons, Birthday Parties, enrichment programs, and special events. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, enjoys creating new ideas and programs, and can balance hands-on work with leadership and administrative responsibilities.

The Youth Program Coordinator will help create a safe, welcoming, fun, and enriching environment while incorporating universal Jewish values such as kavod (respect) and kehillah (community).

Minimum Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise safe, fun, and age-appropriate activities
  • Develop and facilitate after-school, camp, enrichment, recreational, and specialty programs
  • Create new programs, activities, and events based on the needs and interests of the JEA community
  • Oversee program schedules, supplies, specialists, and special events
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and coach program specialists
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members
  • Assist with program registration, communication, scheduling, and administrative tasks
  • Address behavioral and safety concerns appropriately
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when the Children's & Camp Director or Assistant Director is absent

Qualifications and Skills

  • Passion for working with children and supporting their growth
  • Experience in planning and implementing children's programming, camp, childcare, recreation, or education
  • Strong creativity and ability to develop new ideas and engaging programs
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing, professional, and dependable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous summer camp experience is preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification (JEA provides this for hired staff)

Transportation & Physical Requirements

  • Must be 21+ to operate JEA vehicles and have a clear MVR for the previous seven years
  • Must be able to participate in active programming, including running, swimming, sports, and outdoor activities
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and remain actively engaged throughout the workday
