The Energy Efficiency Technology Program Specialist will support the development and implementation of technical education programs focused on clean energy, energy efficiency, and emerging technologies. This role will assist in curriculum development, apprenticeship coordination, and industry engagement to strengthen Georgia’s workforce pipeline in energy-related and other emerging technology fields. The position is contingent upon continued GEFA funding and compliance with grant requirements through September 30, 2028.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development – Assist in creating and updating curricula for programs in HVAC, Electric Vehicle technology, electrical systems, renewable energy, agricultural energy solutions, and additional emerging fields; support colleges in implementing energy-efficiency programs aligned with industry standards.
- Apprenticeship Support – Coordinate with colleges to expand registered apprenticeship programs in energy efficiency technology; provide guidance on program requirements, reporting, and compliance.
- Industry & Stakeholder Engagement – Build partnerships with employers, utilities, and industry associations to align training with workforce needs; participate in outreach to promote clean energy and other emerging career pathways; plan yearly conferences in this area.
- Data & Reporting – Track program performance metrics (enrollment, completion, job placement); assist with grant reporting requirements for GEFA and TCSG leadership.
- Technical Expertise – Stay informed on emerging technologies in energy efficiency and clean energy; provide technical support to colleges on program implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Energy, Engineering, HVAC, Electrical Technology, Agricultural Energy or similar)
* and* two (2) years related work experience.
Note:
Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis. - Experience in technical education, workforce development, or energy-related industries.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies (HVAC, EV systems, renewable energy, agricultural energy systems).
- Familiarity with apprenticeship models and workforce training programs.
- Understanding of clean energy policies and industry trends.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
- Program design capability.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleges, employers, and state agencies.
