You will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining industrial generators, transfer switches and switch gear systems, while also working on control retrofits and more complex troubleshooting projects. You will have the opportunity to attend different technical schools and receive continued training, while experienced technicians can also provide guidance and support to other members of the team.
This role would suit an experienced Generator Technician / Power Generation Technician looking for strong earning potential, technical development and the opportunity to take on more responsibility within a growing business.
The Role- Diagnose, repair, load-bank and perform preventative maintenance on diesel generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), generator controls and switch gear.
- Work on control retrofits, electrical and mechanical repairs and complex troubleshooting, while assisting with larger projects and supporting other technicians.
- Take advantage of continued specialist training and external technical courses to develop your expertise across generator controls, switch gear and aftermarket systems.
- Proven experience as a technician with a generator OEM/manufacturer or closely related power-generation environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of power generation, AC/DC power, electronic controls and fuel systems, including experience with generator controls, ATS and switch gear.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical/mechanical faults, read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and use relevant electrical test equipment
