Job DescriptionThis Senior Structural Engineer position works out of our Atlanta, GA office on a hybrid basis (relocation assistance is available). This is a growth level opportunity!
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and environmental engineering. Our teams have worked on the structural design of buildings and structures for exciting signature projects with clients such as FAA, NASA, USPS, Georgia Ports Authority, Worldwide Fueling projects, MARTA, Data Centers and many Fortune 500 companies.
Responsibilities- Serve as lead project structural engineer on a variety of building types, from small to large size projects and different construction methodologies.
- Provide technical input to studies and structural design.
- Train and share knowledge with junior staff on technical design aspects of structural design, constructability, and suitable methodologies.
- Communicate and present complex technical solutions to clients.
- Conduct site visits for construction progress.
- Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others and sign off on work.
- Participate in development of technical proposals, including estimates for the engineering budget and schedule.
- Review permitting agency/engineering standards and regulations necessary to develop proper structural design.
- Review Client Design Standards for compliance when applicable.
- Work under the supervision of the Department Manager/Project Manager while organizing workload and working independently on project-specific design tasks and with teams as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (from an accredited college) + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE in Structural Engineering).
- US Citizenship required.
- Recent experience with Buildings and Facilities design projects.
- Recent experience using structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements and/or RISA.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience highly desirable.
- 10 years of experience preferred, covering all aspects of building design with direct experience in the design phase.
- Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.
- Hybrid work-model requiring 2 days/week in the AECOM office in Atlanta, GA.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000.
