Senior Project Manager – Water Resources Engineering
Location: Savannah, GA (office location may be flexible based on experience).
Company: Thomas & Hutton – a professional services firm providing consulting services throughout the southeast. This role is part of our water resources department.
We are looking for an experienced senior project manager to grow our water resources department. The successful candidate will provide design and management expertise in stormwater master planning, drainage and stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, permitting, and related civil engineering tasks.
Typical Duties- Manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Develop proposals, scope, fees, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, stakeholders and T&H staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines.
- Execute watershed studies, stormwater master plans, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (1D/2D), drainage design, stormwater BMPs, erosion and sedimentation control, NPDES permitting, and LID infrastructure in urban and rural settings.
- Perform FEMA Letter of Map Changes and capital improvement design projects.
- Mentor team members and provide oversight.
- Monitor scope of work and fees during project progress.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer registration (preferably in Georgia).
- 10+ years experience in Water Resources.
- Hydrologic & hydraulic modeling experience.
- Erosion and sediment control design experience.
- Contract document preparation: plans, specifications, cost estimates.
- AutoCAD, Arc Map, hydrologic/hydraulic software.
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Client‑service oriented, self‑starter, team player.
- Engineering solution orientation.
- Field work, lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Regular schedule: 7:30‑17:30 Mon‑Thu; 7:30‑11:30 Fri.
- Experience in Georgia & South Carolina.
- ICPR4, HEC‑RAS, XPSWMM, Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis software.
- Water quality or TMDL Studies.
