BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree. Additional advanced degree(s) in a related field preferred, but not required. - The M&P Engineering Non-metallics/Composites team seeks a self-motivated individual with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing or a related field, with specialization in sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings, and metal/composite-bonding of aircraft structures (primary and secondary).
- Extensive experience with a variety of aerospace sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings systems and relevant discrepancies (Material Review Board / MRB).
- Deep knowledge of epoxy chemistry, polymer science, surface preparation techniques, and non‑destructive inspection (NDI) of bonded joints.
- Experience with performing evaluation, testing and selection of sealants for environmental, aerodynamics and fuel sealing applications. Involvement with SAE (G‑9, G‑8 Qualified Products Group) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with manufacturers/suppliers to achieve program and company goals.
- Experience with root cause analysis (both on field and in production environment) of aerospace sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings systems (especially for bonding and coating failures).
- Familiarity with FAA/EASA certification requirements and environmental regulations (REACH/RoHS/OSHA). Proven knowledge of working with MIL‑STD, AMS, ASTM, CMH‑17 industry standards.
- Aptitude for continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to the manufacturing and assembly of metallic/non‑metallic/composite aircraft structure.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
Close coordination with other members of the M&P Engineering team to develop deliverables for in‑production aircraft programs, such as:
- Authoring test plans and test reports.
- Revising M&P documentation (GAMPS, GMS/AML, GA Standards, etc.).
- Interrogating 3D based designs for M&P requirements.
- Reviewing M&P supplier specifications.
- Project management (planning / initiation through execution / closure).
- Strong mentorship skills for developing junior and mid‑level engineering talent.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
13 years specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
