Thomas & Hutton is hiring a Structural Engineer in Savannah, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare reports, feasibility studies, permit applications, construction plans and specifications.
  • Visit clients, job sites and consultant offices as needed to support project needs.
  • Interface with other disciplines and consultants as needed.
  • Prepare, coordinate and review work plans prepared in CAD.
  • Perform administration and coordination of structural items during construction.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Efficiently communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas.
  • Handle design activities for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Actively participate in civic and professional organizations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain license within 1 year.
  • 3+ years of experience in design of structures.
  • Strong technical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in finite element software such as RISA, SAP
    2000, RAM.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM Friday, and occasionally evenings and weekends.
  • Successful track record of design projects.
  • Efficient work ethic to complete tasks on time and within budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of construction industry and ability to work with contractors.
  • Ability to perform field work for assessments and construction observation in varied environments.
  • Ability to work alone and within a team.
  • Experience with private and public sector projects.
  • Experience in marine structural design and knowledge of permitting in coastal environments is a plus.
