Materials & Processes Technical Specialist I supporting Composites MRB for in-production aircraft (G500 / G600 / G700 / G800).
BS in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Materials Science, or equivalent technical degree.
The M&P Engineering MRB team is seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing or a related field, with specialization in composite part inspection (UT, RT, etc.) and fabrication of composite aircraft structure.
- Knowledge and/or experience related to aerospace OEM MRB process
- Extensive experience with a variety of aerospace NDT methods
- Experience with manufacturing and repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures
- Prior MRB/LE Authority for M&P Engineering
- Aptitude for continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to the manufacturing and assembly of composite aircraft structure
The preferred candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
Close coordination with other members of the M&P Engineering team to support develop deliverables for in-production aircraft programs, such as:
- Develop solutions to technical challenges of varying scope while ensuring adherence to established Company and FAA policies
- Collaborate with MRB engineering teams to resolve issues affecting aircraft build, test, and delivery
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring nonconformances
- Interpret engineering drawings and support the correction of discrepancies identified during aircraft assembly and testing.
- Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, test teams, and external suppliers to ensure proper composite manufacturing and operations processes are followed
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions. 5 years in specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with a bachelor’s. Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for a master’s, 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Position PurposeAssists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.
