Fall 2026 – IEF – Lab Test Simulation Engineer – Collegiate Associate Intern (GAC Savannah)
What You'll Experience
- Real‑world projects that make an impact
- Exposure to innovative practices
- Opportunities to build skills and professional connections
About the Position
The Lab Test organization designs, builds, and operates 15 state‑of‑the‑art Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) engineering simulation labs that support Gulfstream engineers specializing in aircraft subsystems such as brakes, engines, and flight controls. Labs provide a full representation of a Gulfstream aircraft, allowing engineers to simulate and test aircraft subsystems before deployment. Models are developed with Math Works tools such as Simulink and MATLAB and deployed on real‑time simulation platforms (ADI, Speedgoat, NI) that interface directly with aircraft system controllers (e.g., FCS, brakes, engines).
The team also uses Python scripting to facilitate testing of aircraft interfaces, create utilities for lab operations, and develop tools for group use.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, construction, and operation of HWIL labs.
- Develop and validate subsystem models using Simulink and MATLAB.
- Deploy models onto real‑time simulation platforms and ensure proper integration with aircraft controllers.
- Write and maintain Python scripts to support testing, utilities, and tooling.
- Collaborate on integration tasks between simulation platforms, models, and hardware controllers.
Requirements
- Position is specifically for the Fall 2026 semester – no openings for Spring or Summer.
- Full‑time, on‑site availability in Savannah from August through December 2026.
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program during the internship; expected graduation December 2026 or later.
- Cumulative GPA must be listed on your resume.
