Position Purpose
Assist with the planning, coordination, performance of methods, tooling, and design supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in engineering or a related curriculum required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions. Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
- 5 years in the specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines, or 3 years in the specific technical discipline with a Master’s degree, or 1 year in the specific technical discipline with a PhD.
- 3D modeling experience.
- Provide and maintain detailed work instructions for the manufacturing process to which the individual is assigned; drive quality improvements, efficiency improvements, material presentation enhancements; manage daily work plan; provide metrics for quality and schedule performance; coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required to meet operations goals.
- Contribute to planning, development and coordination of important manufacturing and engineering projects aimed at process development and improvement in manufacturing areas.
- Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Operations Engineering team members.
- Use advanced techniques and modified extensions of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems affecting manufacture of the aircraft, installation of systems, or performance of the final product.
- Determine and develop individual approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Work under limited supervision; work only to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with overall objectives.
- Act as liaison with representatives from other organizations and suppliers.
- Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of processes and the company product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
