Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. 13 years specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience with Bachelor’s. Advanced degree preferred – up to 2 years credit for Master’s and 4 years for Ph.D. in applicable fields.

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering preferred;
  Mechanical or Civil acceptable with experience.
• Fundamental understanding of aircraft structures design and repair with hands‑on aircraft experience.
• Experience with computer‑aided design tools (CCD, CATIA V4/V5, AutoCAD or similar) in designing aircraft structures.
• Experience providing shop floor instructions and working directly with technicians.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with a multi‑disciplined team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, managers.
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb stands and ladders, and move on typical aircraft work platforms.
• Experience designing aircraft structural repair drawings using basic static stress analysis.
• Flexibility to move quickly between assignments and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
• Experience with parts manufacturing methods, techniques, and practices and support manufacturing teams.

• Gulfstream structures engineering experience (G450, G550, G650, G700, G800, G280).
• Experience evaluating and developing structural repairs for composite and metal‑bonded structures.
• Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Maintenance Programs, Component Manuals, and Structural Repair Manuals.
• Experience with aircraft recovery and shoring.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.
• Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
• Apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
• Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas.
• Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements.
• Work under consultative direction; use independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
• Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
• Conceive and plan investigation of broad areas of importance where engineering precedents are lacking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
• Level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
