WHAT YOU WILL DO

General

Summary:

  • Responsible for all purchasing activities (S/R Review with ENG, RFQ Release, Quotation Analysis, Recommendation) related to cost, quality and service for Direct Materials, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating) products and services at Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America, LLC.
  • Manage commercial negotiations with suppliers and mitigate commercial risk.
  • Actively lead commodity development, sourcing/negotiations, and budget management (Saving/Material Cost) and interface with suppliers or internal counterparts.
  • Establish and strengthen supplier relationships for better alignment.
  • Manage commodity development, quality, and parts procurement from local and imported parts.
  • Strive to drive improvement to the purchasing organization’s processes.
  • Work with critical suppliers, assisting them in developing a short‑term ‘Build and Ship’ plan that supports production at HMGMA assembly plant and focus on a long‑term supply plan for critical components.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Find local potential suppliers in NA and select the most competitive supplier for EV programs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for the best material and tooling cost to achieve the vehicle target cost.
  • Develop all commodities with sourced suppliers meeting required specification and development timing.
  • Manage material logistics from suppliers and prevent disruptions in the flow of production parts.
  • Constantly develop new technologies and processes.
  • Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering and Suppliers to ensure secure supply at best cost.

HMGMA is the abbreviation of Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America. It is Hyundai Motor Group's first dedicated EV mass‑production plant, and is an innovative plant with cutting‑edge production technology applied.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO

THE ROLE
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Administration, or other related areas.

Training / Certification:

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.

Related

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in parts development and procurement (Seat Assembly / Instrument Panel, Exterior (Glass/Wiper etc), HVAC System).
  • Experience developing contracts and agreements.
  • Project execution experience.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Desire to continually improve processes and research and implement best practices.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or suggestions from team members, leadership, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to work with different cultures to effectively deliver results.
  • Proven ability to innovate to meet the needs of the business and advance culture.
  • Strong business acumen, decision making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with those whom you have no authority, and get results.
  • Ability to work globally, independently, and self‑directed.
  • Domestic / International travel required.
