Sales Engineer II
As a sales engineer, you will be working closely with the Sales Manager and other sales team members on activities regarding the project pre‑contract phase to ensure a successful project sale. Your goal is to identify and analyze the customer’s needs and transfer those into a successful sales concept. You will provide solutions regarding complex technical and business issues, especially data‑ and process analyses, and concepts.
As the lead person, you will consult the client to find their best solution, prepare a competitive, high‑quality quotation, lead concepts and quotation, and be involved in the handover phase to operations and the project implementation phase on site.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager and team members during the pre‑contract phase.
- Identify and analyze customer needs and translate them into a sales concept.
- Provide solutions for complex technical and business issues, including data and process analyses.
- Consult with clients to recommend the best solution.
- Prepare competitive and high‑quality quotations.
- Lead concept development and quotation processes.
- Support handover to operations and participate in on‑site project implementation.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to create concept solutions based on analysis and understanding of customer logistics processes.
- Exceptional data analysis and preparation skills.
- Experience estimating costs and pricing of large complex projects using multiple types and vendors of equipment.
- Ability to understand the use of equipment and assist in its selection and specification.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with commonly used computer software.
- Analytical ability to understand customer processes, system through puts, rates, and use of automation equipment.
- Well‑developed influencing skills, both internal and external.
- Strong communication skills and a creative, efficient approach to building professional client relationships.
- Experience working within an international professional environment, preferably a project organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience with complex sales processes, preferably within the automated material handling industry.
- Experience using 3D modeling tools and common business software.
- Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, international organization across geographic and cultural boundaries.
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to 10–15%) and internationally (up to 5–10%).
