Technical Specialist III – GAC Savannah

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a complex engineering project from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to certification programs.

Generate, process, and review engineering documentation required for certification, including plans, reports, issue papers, and correspondence.

Make authoritative technical decisions and recommendations that influence extensive engineering activities.

Apply advanced technical principles across diverse engineering activities, develop standards, guides, and work methods.

Develop certification strategies, plans, and deliverables for aircraft, major design changes, and derivative aircraft.

Assess regulatory impacts such as NPRMs and industry guidance on future design development.

Act as liaison with civil aviation authorities and participate in industry conferences and committees.

Collaborate with the engineering department to optimize product, cost, and schedule.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
13 years of experience in airworthiness engineering, including certification processes, issue‑paper authoring, and compliance with FAA 14 CFR Parts 21, 25, and 183.
Advanced degree (Master’s) with 11 years of experience or Ph.D. with 9 years of experience meets the minimum requirements.
Legal authority to work in the United States.
