Overview
The TEFOR Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides critical support to the FCC by developing, executing, and assessing threat combined‑arms maneuver at the tactical level. This role supports both live and virtual exercises, contributing to future force concept development and identifying future capability requirements within the Future Operational Environment (OE).
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and execute threat tactical battle plans
- Create and maintain operational schedules and related products
- Conduct research and analysis on future threat capabilities
- Brief threat future concepts and capabilities at tactical and operational levels
- Input analysis results into simulation tools and live planning events
- Lead and coordinate with other SMEs as required
- Support table‑top exercises, map‑based wargaming, simulations, and live/virtual experimentation
- Ensure accurate portrayal and representation of threat capabilities across modeling and simulation (M&S) environments
This position directly supports FCC’s mission to design, coordinate, and apply the Future Operational Environment in support of Army and Joint concept development, experimentation, requirements determination, and operational test and evaluation. The FCC G2 leverages T2
COM G2’s CORE contract to ensure accurate and validated threat forecasting aligned with DoD and Intelligence Community assessments.
- Former Maneuver (Armor or Infantry) O‑5 or O‑6; former battalion commander
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred - Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience performing similar duties
- Ability to operate independently
- Experience with military exercise/experiment simulations and tools
- Strong understanding of FCC staff processes and integration procedures
- Proficiency in online research and standard office software
- SECRET clearance required; ability to obtain TS-SCI
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (up to 10%)
- Deep understanding of functional capabilities and their representation in virtual and live environments
- Prior experience with FCC, Maneuver Center of Excellence, or Maneuver‑FCD is preferred
