Key Responsibilities- Lead multidisciplinary technical teams and provide key engineering functions across multiple functional groups within the site.
- Present finished projects to site leadership, manage mid‑scale projects, develop expertise in dental and medical device industries, and work with external organizations on technology development while maintaining project timelines.
- Take an active role in site‑level decisions and initiatives, provide coaching/mentorship to other engineers, and own process for production and assembly operations.
- Implement process improvements for manufacturing procedures based on KPIs, lead reviews of process design for compliance, and develop alternative processes/materials/equipment to improve cost and efficiency.
- Research future technologies to develop test methods that are accurate, time‑efficient, and cost‑effective; review and assess production packages.
- Design and execute new process qualifications for new base technologies across multiple manufacturing platforms, and attend technical conferences and trade shows for new opportunities.
- Lead initiatives for the development, introduction, improvement and sustainment of manufacturing processes, including Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement philosophy.
- Use engineering best practices in design, development, testing, documentation and manufacturing of products with adherence to industry & GMP standards.
- Manage design history file and design control process, and lead group ideation sessions for product design.
- Develop design models, drawings, assembly drawings and associated engineering documentation with 3‑D parametric modeling software and office tools.
- Direct final product verification and validation, maintain documentation for existing products, and develop test methods and iterate on product designs.
- Lead software and control development for manufacturing applications, translate workflow requirements, design and debug software components, and integrate them with ERP, MES and data warehousing systems.
- Perform design and assembly of devices and equipment, support development of equipment at all stages, optimize safety, economy, reliability, sustainability and quality, and design mid‑scale automation solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Physics, Computer Sciences).
- 5+ years of experience in medical or dental device manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, others) and GMP quality standards.
- Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing projects and training.
- Proficient in new product development from concept through full production release and leading large‑scale projects with budget management.
- Strong technical writing, report and correspondence skills; ability to review junior engineer reports.
- Strong planning, organizational, decision‑making, analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to multi‑task.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, public speaking, interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Project management, consultative skills and ability to manage a budget.
- Experience in research projects and product conceptualization.
Typically 6 to 8 or more years of increasing responsibility in any applicable professional experience.
EducationTypically a Bachelor’s Degree or global equivalent in a related discipline. Master’s degree a plus. Industry certifications are a plus.
Travel / Physical DemandsTravel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
