About the Opportunity
Our client is a respected geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and inspection firm serving public and private sector clients throughout Texas. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Houston team. This individual will lead geotechnical projects, manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and support a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, transportation, municipal, and land development projects.
Experience working with local agencies such as Harris County, municipal utility districts (MUDs), cities, and other public-sector entities is highly desirable.
- Manage geotechnical projects from proposal through completion.
- Plan and oversee subsurface investigations and field exploration programs.
- Interpret soil borings, laboratory testing results, and geotechnical data.
- Prepare and review geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations.
- Perform foundation, pavement, earthwork, retaining wall, and slope stability analyses.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for clients and project stakeholders.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with contractors, developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support proposal preparation and business development initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. - Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas.
- 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong experience with geotechnical investigations, analysis, and report preparation.
- Experience managing projects and client relationships.
- Familiarity with Harris County standards, local municipalities, MUDs, and public infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience with transportation, municipal, commercial, and land development projects.
- Existing relationships with local public-sector clients.
- Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software such as gINT, LPile, Geo Studio, SLIDE, or similar programs.
