Acts as customer and field service interface. Drives improvements based on end user experience. Performs corrective actions for field issues, special investigations, and product testing. Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs technical planning, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Manages configuration, builds processes, and identifies manufacturing/engineering defects. Facilitates the adherence of product requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Interprets customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part verification criteria.
Primary obligation for this position will be in support of the US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) on Hunter Army Airfield, GA. Interested candidates must be willing to travel with little to no notice to support customer events, including deployment to austere locations outside of the US. The ability for a candidate to pass medical screening to receive a Class III Medical Certificate for flight duties, is desired.
- This position is a fully onsite role located at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA.
- This role may require atypical hours at times based on customer need. Position may require approximately 25% travel.
- This role is eligible for relocation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Static analysis/collection of network traffic and digital protocol data transmissions.
- System and sub-system debug through serial command line interfaces and remote protocols.
- Development of Acceptance Test Procedures for both Collins and non-Collins equipment.
- Analysis of hardware interfaces and wiring schematics to identify and address interoperability/compatibility defects.
- Serviceability assessment of sensitive optical devices and image quality analysis.
- Handling/Operating cryptographic keying devices.
- Compile/Instruct educational modules for supported systems.
- Record, reduce, and plot data collected during flight test.
- Conducts scheduled, and impromptu, training sessions for software loading and systems troubleshooting.
- Role may require atypical hours at times based on customer need. May also require up to 50% travel.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience operating/troubleshooting integrated digital avionics management systems on Special Operations rotary wing aircraft which include MH-6M, MH-6R, MH-47G, and MH-60M platforms.
- Experience with RF energies.
- Experience with Microsoft products to include Excel, Visio, and Access Database.
- Experience with fundamentals of wire harness fabrication and military installation/repair practices.
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
- Understanding of infrared optical sensors and laser targeting systems.
- Understanding of millimeter wave terrain following radar systems.
- Experience with anti-jam/anti-spoof GPS receivers and Inertial Navigation Units.
- Experience with aviation maps and navigational charts.
- Experience with Aircraft Survivability Equipment with a primary focus on the L3
