Service Engineering Liaison - Savannah CS SVC Tech Spec I

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

This position will be responsible for working Savannah Service Center and Backshop Liaison engineering requests and providing direct shop floor assistance. The successful candidate will handle RMC tasks, maintain deliverable dates and schedules, communicate these tasks and schedules, and coordinate with other teams to support customer aircraft needs. Responsibilities also include working closely with Liaison Site support teams to best apply resources in a highly tactical manner to address customer break/fix issues and minimize overhead costs.

Responsibilities
  • Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating important engineering projects.
  • Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
  • Uses advanced techniques and a modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  • Works under limited supervision; work should be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with overall objectives.
  • Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
Additional Requirements
  • Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
  • The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • A fundamental understanding of the sizing, development and installation of airframe structural repairs.
  • The ability to effectively lead and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, mechanics, Tech Ops, Quality Control, upper management, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization’s position with external and internal customers.
  • Experience with Catia V5 and/or Smar Team model-based design or other aircraft drawings.
  • Positive attitude, team building, mentoring and coaching skills, and a desire to produce and promote training.
  • Experience in the repair of metallic structure.

Preferred

Skills:

  • Experience with aircraft systems.
  • Experience with airworthiness regulations in regards to major repairs.
  • Experience with static and FDT stress analysis in post-production environment or a production MRB stress engineer.
  • Experience with materials, M&P processes and part fabrication.
  • Gulfstream engineering experience on GIV/GV/G650 /G500 / G600 / G700 / G800.
  • Experience with composite repair.
Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years in a specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with a Bachelor's. Experience credits considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for a Masters, 4 years for a PhD in fields applicable to this job.
