Our client is seeking an Engineer to join their growing Transmission Line engineering team. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while supporting electric utility and infrastructure projects throughout Georgia and the Southeast. The ideal candidate will have strong transmission line design experience, proficiency with PLS-CADD, and the ability to contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction support.
Candidates located in Georgia are preferred; however, the client is open to considering candidates located anywhere in the United States who currently hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Georgia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering and design of high-voltage transmission line projects.
- Develop transmission line layouts, profiles, structure spotting, and construction drawings using PLS-CADD and related software.
- Conduct line routing studies and engineering evaluations.
- Design transmission lines in accordance with applicable industry standards, utility requirements, NESC, and client specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, permitting teams, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review design calculations, material specifications, and construction packages.
- Provide technical support during construction and respond to field-related engineering questions.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD.
- Knowledge of transmission line design principles, structure loading, and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Georgia.
- Candidates residing in Georgia.
- Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, MFAD, or similar industry software.
- Utility consulting or EPC project experience.
- Experience supporting transmission projects ranging from 69kV through 500kV.
