Position: Safety Coordinator (Field)

The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Georgia Transmission Corporation's safety and technical training programs. This position serves as a valuable technical resource for field operations, contributing to evaluations and providing guidance on safe work practices. Primary responsibilities include participating in pre-construction meetings, daily job briefings, and field safety observations for active construction and maintenance projects. The Safety Coordinator also assists with GTC's safety-related activities, responds to incidents and near misses, and conducts accident investigations as needed.

The Safety Coordinator oversees safety efforts across various locations, including substation and transmission line facilities, battery energy storage systems, large-scale construction projects, and select GTC-owned buildings. This role provides day-to-day guidance on OSHA compliance, performs routine assessments and audits, and supports compliance efforts for programs such as the NRECA Rural Electric Safety Accreditation Program (RESAP) and the Electric Cooperative Safety Achievement Program (ECSAP) of Georgia.

Additional responsibilities may include contributing to the development and delivery of safety-related training programs, assisting in the creation of policies, guidelines, and procedures (PGPs), and occasionally supporting Integrated Transmission System (ITS) training sessions at the Electric Cooperative Training Center or other locations.

In addition to internal responsibilities, the Safety Coordinator represents the Corporation's interest in selecting external safety-related initiatives, such as those led by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The Safety Coordinator serves as a reliable resource for both internal and external stakeholders on safety and technical training matters.
