We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2027 Intern - Structural Dynamics Engineer to join the team! This position will be performing structural dynamic analysis on spacecraft and lunar vehicles in multiple NASA human spaceflight programs. This includes Orion, Gateway, Human Landing System, Commercial Crew Program, Lunar Terrain Vehicle, Pressurized Rover, and others.
This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks.
RequisitionQualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited university.
Completed at least 45credit hours.
Minimum of 2.8 GPA.
Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering student
Coursework:
Statics, DynamicsWorking knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
Experience with desktop software applications, MS Office is required
Working toward a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Coursework:
Finite Element Analysis, Linear Algebra, Structural Dynamics, Vibrations, Signal Processing, Data Analysis and Reporting, Structural AnalysisCumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
Experience coding/scripting with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
Experience using FEA software and a pre/post-processor
Experience with Unix/Linux
Familiarity with version control methods such as Git Lab or Git Hub
Excellent personal and professional career growth
9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), when applicable

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions Work EnvironmentGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
