Job Description
- Join Gulfstream's Flight Dynamics and Control Law team for a Summer 2027 associate internship
- Support development, analysis, and testing of advanced aircraft control systems
- Perform mathematical modeling and simulation development
- Analyze control laws and engineering data
- Support flight test activities
- Verify flight control system requirements
- Use MATLAB, Simulink, and aircraft simulation environments to evaluate aircraft performance and handling characteristics
- Gain exposure to the complete flight controls development process from concept development through laboratory testing and flight test validation
- Work alongside experienced flight controls engineers
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unrounded); must be listed on resume
- Minimum duration: 10–12 weeks (summer); 10–16 weeks (spring and fall)
- Must work onsite; this is not a remote position
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering major
- MATLAB and Simulink modeling
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar technical languages
- Understanding of dynamic systems and feedback control principles
- Experience analyzing engineering data and presenting technical results
- Familiarity with linear systems, transfer functions, and control system design concepts
- Class projects, research, or extracurricular activities involving aircraft simulation, autonomous vehicles, robotics, control system design, guidance and navigation, or dynamic system modeling especially encouraged
- Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position, unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee
Demonstrates strong capabilities in MATLAB and Simulink modeling, along with a solid understanding of dynamic systems and feedback control principles. Experience in analyzing engineering data and presenting technical results is essential for success in aircraft control systems development.
