GPTV Live Event & Studio Production Internship Program

The Savannah Ghost Pirates are seeking motivated, creative, and reliable students and recent graduates to join the GPTV Live Event & Studio Production Internship Program for the 2026–27 season. GPTV is the production team responsible for bringing Savannah Ghost Pirates games and events to life through video, audio, graphics, lighting, entertainment, and live event operations. This hands-on opportunity provides interns with the chance to develop real-world experience in a fast-paced, live production environment while working alongside experienced professionals.

Interns will have the opportunity to develop skills in all areas of live event and studio production. Assignments may be based on experience, interest, and the needs of the production team.

Floor Manager
- Assist with coordinating hosts, ice crew, hype crew, performers, and other game day personnel. Help communicate game cues and ensure talent and participants are in the correct locations at the appropriate times.

Game Scripts
- Assist with the creation and organization of game scripts for Savannah Ghost Pirates home games, including game presentation elements, promotions, contests, entertainment, and sponsor activations.

Daktronics Operator
- Operate Display Studio during games to execute video board and LED elements. Assist with building and organizing graphics and content using Content Studio.

Show Runner
- Assist with coordinating performers, contestants, and other game day personnel. Help ensure participants are checked in, prepared, and in position for scheduled game presentation elements.

Hype Crew
- Help create an energetic and engaging atmosphere throughout the arena by encouraging fan participation and supporting on-ice intermission activities and other game presentation elements.

Live Camera Operator
- Operate a live production camera position during Savannah Ghost Pirates games while following direction from the production team.

DJ
- Operate the 7

Point Audio Sports DJ software during games and assist with curating music and playlists for themed and premium nights.

Audio Engineer
- Operate the main audio mixing board for the arena and assist with audio routing, setup, and troubleshooting as needed.

Tagboard Operator
- Operate Tagboard graphics and social media software to help display fan-generated content and other digital elements throughout games.

House Lights Operator
- Operate the arena house lighting system during games and assist with the setup and breakdown of additional lighting equipment used for productions and events.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Reliable, creative, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a large production team.
• Able to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced, real-time environment.
• Open-minded, adaptable, and willing to take on new responsibilities.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Interested in pursuing a career in live event production, sports, entertainment, broadcasting, audio, video, graphics, lighting, or related fields.

Previous experience in live production, broadcasting, theater, music, sports, or technical production is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team is essential.

• Availability for all Savannah Ghost Pirates home games throughout the 2026–27 season.
• Occasional flexibility outside of game nights for meetings, training, production preparation, or special events.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, live production environment with real-time deadlines and performance expectations.
• Ability to take direction, follow established procedures, and maintain responsibilities as part of a larger production team.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move throughout the arena at a quick pace, navigate stairs, and remain on your feet for extended periods of time.

This internship provides hands-on experience in the live production of professional sporting events. Interns will have the opportunity to:

• Work directly on Savannah Ghost Pirates game productions.
• Learn from experienced professionals in live event and studio production.
• Develop technical and operational skills in their area of interest.
• Gain experience working under real-time deadlines and production standards.
• Experience the collaborative process behind a professional sports production.

This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit may be available for students whose educational institutions permit internship credit.
