Base salary up to $120,000 plus 10% annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.
We are seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and finance function of a growing, private equity–backed organization. Reporting directly to Private Equity leadership and partnering closely with the General Manager and executive team, this role will own day-to-day accounting operations while establishing fresh policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks to support rapid, profitable growth.
●Key Responsibilities:
Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, job costing, and month-end close
Establish and implement accounting and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls
Develop timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
Partner with operational and project teams to ensure accurate job cost tracking and margin analysis
Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party consultants
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory and tax requirements
Build scalable processes and systems to support growth and potential future transactions
Collaborate with leadership to drive financial visibility and strategic decision-making
Mentor and develop accounting staff as the organization grows
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility
Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or project-based industries
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
Demonstrated ability to build and improve accounting processes and policies
Experience managing external audits and year-end processes
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across operations and executive leadership
Experience in private equity–backed or high-growth environments is a plus
