Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree may offset one year of the experience requirement. A minimum of four years of increasing financial responsibility, including third‑party negotiations and interface with Procurement, is required.
Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Supplier Cost Analysis Manager, the analyst performs cost/price analysis on proposals submitted by outside suppliers. The analyst supports Purchasing in establishing negotiation strategies and objectives, and takes the lead role in cost/price/financial‑related negotiations with suppliers. The analyst ensures lot cost risks and opportunities are properly communicated.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions- Evaluate supplier proposals, considering short‑ and long‑term financial implications via cost analysis, on‑site fact finds, price analysis, competitive analysis, and other methods. Develop cost/price positions for negotiations and communicate them to Purchasing and all levels of management.
- Negotiate with suppliers to defend and argue cost/price positions, including contract terms and conditions with financial implications.
- Evaluate financial stability of suppliers through analysis of financial statements and recommend follow‑up intervals or further actions based on the results.
- Maintain knowledge of government‑published cost and price indices and economic forecasts related to Gulfstream purchases, developing price adjustment formulas that utilize these indices for evaluation and analysis.
- Maintain an environment of continuous process improvement for operations and financial/procurement processes.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of lot cost risks and opportunities to Material Finance.
- Solid knowledge and command of cost build‑up processes and the ability to assess the reasonableness of cost elements.
A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates, including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer. The role requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
