Position Overview

The Universal Banker II combines teller and sales responsibilities to provide exceptional service to members and prospective members. The role supports financial transactions, loan processing, and member relationships while ensuring compliance with Credit Union policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet and serve members in person, over the phone, or digitally.
  • Receive and process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan/credit card payments, and other transactions, and maintain accurate balancing records.
  • Perform teller cashbox duties and support ATM, cash recycler, and other branch technology.
  • Open, close, and maintain Consumer and Business Membership accounts.
  • Process loan applications, notify members of decisions, and witness signing of documents.
  • Provide consultative service, recommend deposit and loan products that match member needs.
  • Document member interactions in the IRM system and ensure timely follow‑up.
  • Support branch operations, audits, and safety procedures.
  • Provide inbound and outbound telephone services as needed.
  • Assist with community and new business development, including supervision and mentorship of retail staff.
  • Serve as onboarding specialist for new employees at branch locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High‑school diploma and equivalent work experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3‑5 years in a financial branch environment or comparable sales/retail experience.
  • Ability to work a Saturday rotation schedule and provide coverage at other branches.
  • Experience with loan application processes and credit union policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market trends, lending regulations, and member service policies.
  • Strong math and analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Background check, credit, drug screen, bondability, and criminal background clearance required.

Physical Requirements
