Job SummaryPerforms selected diagnostic testing and basic laboratory activities across disciplines including hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry. Minimal interpretation and judgment are required for analytical processes.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties- Maintain full knowledge of laboratory procedures per protocol, laboratory manual, shipping manual, etc.
- Assist the laboratory manager in preparing the site for study conduct.
- Help create laboratory documents such as harvest logs.
- Prepare collection tubes, vials, and study supplies for visits.
- Monitor laboratory sample storage temperature and address any excursions.
- Maintain harvest logs, chain‑of‑custody, manifest/inventory logs, and memos.
- Pack and label study materials for storage or return to sponsor upon study close‑out.
- Obtain samples per protocol, perform selected diagnostic tests or limited high‑complexity testing, and document in source documents.
- Assist in gathering data for validations on instrumentation.
- Monitor supply inventory.
- Store samples upright in appropriate shipping boxes in the freezer; separate primary and secondary samples.
- Ensure freezer/refrigerator temperature remains within protocol limits and maintain logs.
- Support strict adherence to best practices, FDA CFR, ICH, GCP, Cen Exel SOPs, site working practices, protocol, and company policies.
- Assume other duties as assigned; the above are a general description of the work and are not all inclusive.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- High school graduate or GED equivalency.
- IATA certification preferred.
- Phlebotomist certification preferred.
- Motivation to work consistently in a fast‑paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Indoor clinic environment.
- Essential physical requirements: sitting, typing, standing, walking.
- Lightly active position; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Reporting to work as scheduled essential.
- On‑site work arrangement.
