Overview
This opportunity seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist skilled in moderate to high acuity surgical cases, providing essential support under the direction of registered nurses and surgeons. The role demands expertise in preparing and maintaining sterile surgical environments, anticipating procedural needs, and collaborating closely with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal operative outcomes.
Responsibilities- Prepare operative suite and surgical field, maintaining sterility and safety standards
- Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment following preference cards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Perform surgical counts and participate actively in procedure time-outs
- Manage post-procedure tasks including dressing preparation and instrument sterilization
- Support inventory control and compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist with patient transport and postoperative safety measures
- Mentor and train new staff and students in surgical modalities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all organizational policies
- Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST, TS-C, CSFA, or CSA) with national certification
- Current BLS certification from recognized authority
- High School diploma or GED; completion of accredited surgical technology program
- Proficient knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques
- Strong communication, multitasking abilities, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to operate basic computer applications including Word and Excel
- Experience in moderate to high acuity surgical settings preferred
- Capacity to function effectively in stressful and emergency situations
- 12-hour day shifts
