- Position Summary
Primarily responsible for Clinical Ethical Consults across St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. Designs and provides formational and educational opportunities with the VP of Mission for the Ethics Committee, colleagues and community. Facilitates the SJ/C Ethics Committee. Assists the Director with Mission Services pogramming. Is a member of the Mission Services team, reporting to the . of Mission Services.

Masters Degree (preferably in Bioethics, Theology, Education) - Required Minimum of 18 Graduate Hours in Ethics/Moral Theology - Required
- Experience
2-3 Years experience in Healthcare/Mission - Required Familiarity with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, 7th Edition - Required 1 Year with Ethics Consults - Preferred
- License & Certification
Healthcare Ethics Consultant Certification (HEC) - Preferred
- Core Job Functions
Consults with patients, physicians, colleagues, and family. Reports recommendations through preparation of data and summaries to Ethics Committee and ensures accurate records are kept. Responsible for compliance standards and federal/state regulatory requirements related to Ethics and Patients’ Rights. Leading Ethics Committee; prepares agenda, consult review and education for committee, acts as chair and leads committee and subcommittee meetings ensuring an interdisciplinary approach.
Design and provide formation and education in Ethics for colleagues, patients and community. Provides regular monthly departmental reports and annual report to VP of Mission, CEO, Board of Trustees via the Mission and Ethics Committee of the Board.
