The Role:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations. The AGM helps drive guest satisfaction, team member engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance while ensuring that Indigo Road Hospitality Group standards and brand expectations are consistently upheld. This position serves as a hands‑on leader who works closely with all departments to create exceptional experiences for guests and team members alike

  • Support the General Manager in leading all aspects of hotel operations and daily business activities.
  • Model and uphold Indigo Road Hospitality Group's Core Values and leadership principles.

  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and developing team members and leaders.
  • Maintain an open-door policy and build strong relationships with team members throughout the property.
  • Recognize and celebrate team successes while promoting employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead daily stand‑up meetings and operational briefings as assigned.
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) and serve as the primary operational leader in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently delivered throughout the hotel.
  • Interact regularly with guests to solicit feedback and proactively address concerns.
  • Resolve guest complaints and service recovery situations promptly and professionally.
  • Support property quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with brand and IRHG standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, food and beverage outlets, and back‑of‑house areas.
  • Ensure the overall appearance, cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation of the hotel meet luxury hospitality standards.
  • Assist in overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other hotel departments.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to company standards.
  • Support department leaders in achieving operational goals, guest satisfaction targets, and profitability objectives.
  • Ensure all safety, sanitation, and security procedures are consistently followed.
  • Verify proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety standards.
  • Support implementation of company initiatives, policies, procedures, and operational improvements.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory controls, purchasing procedures, and expense management practices.
Requirements for Success:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, preferably in Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, or Operations Management.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel environment required.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with guests, team members, and business partners.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of hotel operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑pressure situations.
  • Professional appearance, presentation, and demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
