Technical Operations System Specialist II – Fleet Communications

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

This position is located in GAC Savannah. The Technical Operations System Specialist II is the primary point of contact for internal and external customers and represents Gulfstream's Product Support network for both technical and non-technical situations. The role provides advice and guidance on installation, service, repair, and maintenance of Gulfstream aircraft systems and support equipment. The specialist builds relationships with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues and continuously improve the technical support process.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in aviation maintenance, engineering technology, or related curriculum required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of aircraft-related maintenance and operations experience required.
  • Possession of an A&P license, EASA B1/B2 Flight Safety Master Technician, and four additional years of related aircraft experience may offset the degree requirement.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license is preferred.
Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to in-flight emergency calls from operators, coordinating resources and providing technical data and guidance during the event.
  • Interpret operational and maintenance requirements, independently providing technical consultation to customers, Service Center, Product Support, Field Service Representatives, Customer Operational Readiness Representatives, Engineering, other internal departments and Flight Safety to resolve operational conditions.
  • Conduct in-depth system reviews to develop troubleshooting plans tailored to operator and aircraft needs. Direct and guide customers, Service Center, FSR and COR reps on plan implementation and follow‑through to Return To Service (RTS).
  • Direct the exchange of technical data necessary to provide temporary or permanent repair drawings for damaged in-service aircraft in the field.
  • Review, investigate, and respond to correspondence received from Gulfstream operators and other agencies, coordinating the transfer and analysis of aircraft components and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop, prepare, and update troubleshooting procedures and processes for Gulfstream aircraft. Coordinate the development and evaluation of test equipment for use on Gulfstream aircraft.
  • Determine priorities for situations submitted to Technical Operations, based on safety, urgency, and policy.
  • Initiate and prepare customer bulletins, Pub Change Requests (PCR), service news items, letters, RQAAT presentations, and other formal documentation and communication.
  • Use Lean methodology to identify and implement improvements to internal processes that increase group efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Re‑enforce customer satisfaction, identify areas of frustration, resolve issues, and act as customer advocate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements
  • Good understanding of PC and main‑frame computer applications, including standard word processing programs such as Microsoft Word.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manuals, and maintenance records systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
