Position Summary

Smith seeks technicians to support inbound and outbound operations processes.

Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound processes: product receiving, inspection, sorting, teardown, part cataloging, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading IT units and commodities.
  • Handle outbound processes: pulling inventory, sorting, entry into the WCX system, labeling, QC, invoicing, and packaging of IT units and commodities.
  • Adhere to and assist with prioritization of inbound purchase orders, ensuring timely completion.
  • Assist in the movement of inventory and packaging per operational requirements and sales order shipment deadlines.
  • Stage, organize, and process purchase order materials.
  • Organize, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and catalog electronic hardware including servers, workstations, network equipment, computers, and spare parts.
  • Effectively erase data from inbound devices and reset them to original factory specifications.
  • Provide updates on purchase order status and ensure expeditious completion of all materials.
  • Meet project deadlines and create reports as needed, providing status updates to Operations management.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements, including technical enhancements to the test environment.
  • Adhere to and maintain ESD requirements in all required work areas.
  • Adhere to and maintain all quality, safety, environmental & recycling processes and policies.
  • Assist Operations team and other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing IT hardware (specifically Dell, HP, and/or Cisco).
  • Certifications:

    Certified Network Administration (CNA), Cisco Certified Network Administration (CCNA), A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified System Administration (MCSA), Microsoft Technical Administration (MTA), Server+ Certification, Network+ Certification.
  • Demonstrated initiative and research of new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail (quality & accuracy).
  • Self‑motivated; high performance/productivity.
  • Strong teamwork experience and team player.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Microsoft Access database experience a plus.
  • Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. repetitively.
