Trolley Driver/Tour Guide

This position requires a good sense of fun, a desire to entertain, and excellent driving skills. The driver must operate a trolley on busy public streets while narrating a scripted sightseeing tour.

It involves driving an Old Town Trolley and sharing the history of our region, entertaining visitors while educating them about historic Savannah.

• Competitive pay: $18 per hour + tips (average of $25 per hour with gratuities included)

• Drive safely and competently in a non‑air‑conditioned trolley on busy public streets while entertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour
• Meet and deal with the general public and diverse company employees promptly and courteously
• Handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via radio while maintaining a professional and pleasant composure
• Maintain radio contact with dispatch during tours
• Perform interior and exterior inspection of the vehicle daily and accurately complete departmental documents/forms for inspection

• Drive a non‑air‑conditioned vehicle on a busy public street safely and competently while entertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour
• Be able to board and exit the trolley and assist guests with boarding and exiting
• Pass annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) checks
• Learn and memorize scripted tours and routes as assigned
• Read, write and speak fluent English to communicate with employees, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel
• Sit for long periods and tolerate wide range of temperatures and weather conditions

• At least 21 years old
• Pass a DOT physical upon employment
• Hold a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record of at least three years

• Pass pre‑employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing
• Pass a DOT physical upon employment
