Our client, a leading organization in the supply chain and procurement industry, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be part of the procurement department supporting the sourcing and supply chain management teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, excellent organizational abilities, and proactive problem-solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Location: Savannah, GA
Pay Range:
Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
What's the Job?
- Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
- Obtain and compare price quotes, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term supplier relationships.
- Process purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunities.
What's Needed?
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
