Facilities Maintenance
This position is responsible for the preventative and general maintenance, inspection, and repair of the exhibit areas, building, grounds, and building equipment for the Historic Tours of America’s Savannah facilities. You will ensure that the image of our company is reflected in the appearance and condition of our equipment and facilities while maintaining the company’s high standards of safety and cleanliness.

- Perform preventative maintenance, general maintenance, inspections, and installations/repairs to building, grounds, and building equipment, so business operations continue to run smoothly and the physical condition does not deteriorate. This includes painting buildings and equipment.
- Notify the Manager concerning the need for major repairs.
- Perform general maintenance duties: gather/empty trash, service, clean and supply restrooms, sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors, clean windows and mirrors, dust furniture, walls, fixtures, office machines; sweep outdoor walkways, trim vegetation/grass, and keep grounds free of litter and weeds.
- During rainy conditions, cover retail displays and ensure that rain drainage areas are free of debris.
- Follow manufacturer procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- High degree of self‑motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team within established rules and regulations.
- Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance and construction.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge in carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, building maintenance, groundskeeping, and equipment repair.
- Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is operating properly.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and external entities.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 1–3 years of general maintenance experience preferred.
- Must pass pre‑employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing.
- Valid GA/SC Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
