Project Manager - Structural Steel
Role Overview
The Project Manager will oversee structural steel fabrication and erection projects from award through closeout. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships while coordinating closely with detailing, shop, and field teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage projects from contract award through final closeout
- Oversee submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
- Track material procurement and fabrication schedules
- Coordinate erection sequencing, field logistics, and jobsite progress
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong relationships with GCs and owners
- Monitor job costs, labor, and overall project performance
- Working knowledge of AISC 360 and the AISC Code of Standard Practice
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes
- Experience coordinating delegated connection design
- Familiarity with bolting and welding requirements and QA/QC standards
- Ability to bridge detailing, shop production, and field operations
- 3+ years of construction project management experience (structural steel preferred)
- Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, and standard project management tools
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Salary range: $100,000-$125,000 (depending on experience)
- Performance-based bonus
