Position: Aircraft Painter I - 3rd Shift

Pay Rate: $25.66/hour |
Schedule: 3rd Shift (8pm – 6:30am)

About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading name in the aerospace industry to find a skilled Aircraft Painter who takes pride in precision and craftsmanship. In this role, you won’t just paint aircraft—you’ll help deliver world‑class quality, safety, and performance that quite literally takes flight. Your work ensures every aircraft meets the highest standards before it leaves the ground.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)

As an Aircraft Painter, you’ll be hands‑on in preparing and finishing aircraft surfaces with accuracy and care:

  • Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft surfaces for paint application
  • Apply glazing and sealing compounds ahead of final coatings
  • Mix and apply paints and primers using various equipment and techniques
  • Operate, maintain, and clean painting and priming tools and systems
  • Perform detailed sealant work, including leading edge finishing
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and aircraft protection procedures (PTP)
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in line with 5S and shop standards
  • Care for assigned tools and equipment
  • Support additional shop duties as needed
What You Bring (Required Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MUST have 1 year of painting experience
  • Must be able to work 3rd Shift
  • Basic knowledge of paint systems (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, acrylics)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents
  • Comfortable using painting tools, equipment, and materials
  • Physically able to climb ladders/stairs, work in tight spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work various shifts
  • Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification
  • Basic computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aircraft or automotive painting environments
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship

Pay Details

$25.66 per hour
