CDL license is preferred for this position.
Shift: Tuesday through Friday, 5:45am to 4:15pm
Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years experience and working knowledge in material handling, warehousing, inventory control, shipping and receiving.
- 3 years operating a forklift and gas/electric powered carts.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Under minimal supervision, utilize material handling skills to safely unload/transport high risk, high value components/assemblies utilizing the correct tooling per the documented process. Coordinate special handling and ensure schedule compliance in support of customer requirements.
Job Description- Coordinate the arrival/delivery of material with designated carrier and communicate arrivals/delays to appropriate levels of management and production, as needed.
- Coordinate with crane/rigging vendor as required to meet Manufacturing schedule.
- Coordinate with Materials team members to plan the process and man‑power needs prior to performing offload and timely delivery of wings, TRs, empennage, etc.
- Ensure proper rigging and equipment/tooling are in place and functional prior to off load. Clear and secure work area prior to performing offload.
- Inspect equipment/tooling, forklift, man‑lift, rigging, etc. prior to performing offload.
- Ensure rigging secured safely to component pickup points prior to lifting to prevent damage/injury to product/employees.
- Operate/utilize specialized material handling equipment, pneumatic tools (impact hammer or wrenches), hand tools, crane, scissors lift, boom, dollies, man‑lift, various forklifts with attachments to remove product safely and damage free from shipping container, using proper PPE.
- Execute offload, uncrating, handling, and delivery of components considering weather situation or risk (rain, thunder, wind, etc.). Identify unsafe conditions and delay or halt material handling as required.
- Inspect aircraft component/assembly for damage. Ensure FOD (foreign object debris) prevention for every unit unloaded and transported.
- Identify/obtain proper transport equipment ensuring items are loaded properly to ensure safe/damage free transport of components/assemblies to manufacturing staging.
- Communicate with crane operator and offload crew through use of hand signals during unloading and handling process (units are in motion).
- Disassemble shipping containers and re‑packages for safe supplier return/transportation.
- Responsible for appropriate inventory transactions as required by offload activities (receiving, putaway, picking, etc.).
- Ensure housekeeping in work area. Comply with all company safety regulations.
- Learn and apply Lean concepts within functional responsibilities.
- Support a continuous improvement culture including lean principles, sustainability initiatives, ergonomic improvements, safety, and cross‑functional teams.
- Must be familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations and Quality Inspection procedures.
- Requires typing and PC skills.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working in an automated inventory system.
- Standing majority of shift and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain all certifications required to perform job duties.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- This job requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
