1st shift Shipper - Savannah, GA

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a 1st Shift Shipper for our Savannah, GA Distribution Center. We are looking for a hardworking, motivated individual.

• Performs the day‑to‑day operations of the shipping department.
• Packs and ships completed sales orders using the correct number of boxes and stuffing not to exceed the 40 lb. weight standard set up by the shipping manager.
• Maintains the quality of the product by looking for damaged bags or boxes.
• Helps ship freight orders and other special orders including heavy duty shipments and end‑of‑day Next Day Air shipments, including hazardous material.
• Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to assure the correct quantity goes out including in completes.

• Ability to read and write small letters and numbers; ability to make arithmetic calculations; ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Ability to concentrate and communicate with management and co‑workers regarding a shipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions that pertain to each shipment.
• Ability to lift objects weighing seventy (70) pounds.
• Strong work ethic and some schedule flexibility.

The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The hours are 8:15 am‑4:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
