Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Entry-level position; no prior aviation manufacturing experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work.
- Enrollment in, or completion of, a Technical Aviation program is preferred.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills required.
Position Summary
This entry-level role provides hands-on training in aircraft manufacturing and structural assembly processes. Working in a team-oriented production environment under direct supervision, the Aircraft Structural Assembly Technician will perform a variety of assembly and fabrication tasks while developing the technical skills necessary to support aircraft production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Perform basic structural assembly tasks, including fitting detail parts, drilling, and riveting, following established procedures and work instructions.
- Safely operate and maintain basic hand and pneumatic tools, including drills, rivet guns, countersinks, reamers, and files.
- Verify that parts, assemblies, and completed work meet quality standards and manufacturing requirements as directed by supervisors and Quality Control personnel.
- Learn to interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specification documents to determine production requirements and sequence of operations.
- Align and assemble components using fixtures, pins, clamps, fasteners, and other assembly aids.
- Observe experienced team members and progressively perform tasks with greater independence as skills and proficiency develop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
- Support team objectives and perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read measuring devices and perform basic shop mathematics.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet production schedules.
- Basic proficiency with computer-based software applications.
- Commitment to workplace safety and good housekeeping practices.
- Flexibility to work any assigned shift as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday as required.

Job Title:
Aircraft Structural Assembly Technician I or Aircraft Manufacturing Trainee (depending on your organization's job architecture). This title better reflects the training-focused nature of the role while emphasizing career growth opportunities.
