CNC Technician III in GAC Savannah

This is a 2nd Shift M-T) position at a minimum for 6 months for training prior to consideration to 1st shift or weekend shifts. Must be willing to work Weekend Shift F-S-S ) or Weekend Night Shift F-S-S )

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years related experience or education to include two (2) years experience with similar automated equipment. Experience in PC applications preferred. ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) 60 Days preferred. Position

Purpose:

Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials and layout techniques.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Download program files to set up machine for cutting/milling to blueprints and/or engineering documents.

Test program and ensure machine is set up in accordance with drawings.

Remove and/or replace cutting tools and offsets as required. Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.

Manipulate programs to fit inserts into material, ensuring fit and conformity.

Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.

Edge-fill and/or seal and sand panels.

Identify material and appropriate cutting tools. Set up material and inspect for serviceability.

Write and/or edit CNC programs based on blueprint specifications.

Additional Functions:

Train lower level CNC technicians.

Monitor material supply.

Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.

Complete paperwork and other documents as required.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Comply with 5S and Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.
