Summary:The machine Assembler compiles sub-components and completes machines according to verbal, written and blueprint specifications by performing the following duties and others as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Understands then utilizes blueprints and shop packet instructions; interprets when required.
- Constructs the assemblies and sub-assemblies of product line and assists in specialized production.
- Verifies component orientation, fit, alignment, and freedom of movement before completing assemblies.
- Uses chain hoist, hand tools: air, electrical and manual, bench tools: grinder, drill press, etc., and measuring instruments to assemble machines.
- Builds component parts, stacking and training gin saws, building saw and brush cylinders.
- Operates dynamic balancing machine on variety of products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize assembly defects or deviations from specifications.
- Checks torques and clearances during assembly process.
- Inspects each part to verify quality and operability at completion.
- Willingness to learn new equipment, assembly methods, and product designs.
- Confers with others to resolve assembly problems.
- Reports labor accurately each day.
- Assists less experienced assembly personnel.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comprehend and complete work using written, verbal or blueprint instructions
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of how mechanical components work together
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one or small group situations
- Aptitude to read and comprehend a tape measure
- Demonstrates a high level of reliability and punctuality
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
- Lift/Move up to 50lbs
