Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse (PMH RN) to join our team in a behavioral health setting. The PMH RN plays a critical role in promoting mental well‑being through prevention, education, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. This position requires strong clinical judgement, critical thinking, and the ability to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
The PMH RN will work with individuals, families, and communities to provide holistic care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs
- Monitor changes in patient condition and communicate with physicians for necessary orders
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and behavioral specialists to ensure patient safety and well‑being
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Adhere to all professional standards, including the Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Nursing Practice, and accrediting body requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Completed TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x‑ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
