Registered Nurse with PACU experience

Fast paced outpatient OBGYN ambulatory surgery center.

• Effectively uses equipment by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care
• Assists in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the preoperative area
• Maintains order and cleanliness of preoperative area
• Performs through preoperative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting
• Provides preoperative instruction and explanation of patient rights and responsibilities
• Describes the peri-operative experience to the patient/significant other, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and how the significant other will participate
• Obtains pertinent patient records prior to patient's arrival for preoperative testing
• Performs all preoperative testing (i.e., laboratory work, electrocardiogram, x-rays, etc.)
• Reports all abnormal values to anesthesiologist/attending surgeon
• Explains informed consent for surgery, patient's rights/responsibilities, and preoperative/postoperative instructions
• Obtains necessary signatures
• Ensures that the patient's chart is complete on day before surgery is scheduled
• Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

• 2 room OR
• Monday - Friday, typical hours are 6:00am - 3:00pm (hours may vary depending on schedule)
• No weekends, holidays, or call

• Minimum Education:
  High school graduate or equivalent, Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Certifications and Licenses: RN with active Georgia license, Basis Life Support/CPR certification (Preferred)

• Knowledge in the fields of medicine, anatomy and physiology
