• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking, ensuring that care is individualized and coordinated through effective partnerships.
• Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and population‑specific characteristics.
• Partners with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching) and keeps them updated, making their goals the focus of the plan of care.
• Practices current clinical standards and maintains a safe, quality patient care environment.
• Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, promotes the professional care delivery model, and completes timely documentation.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
• Participates in performance improvement, research, and evidence‑based practice initiatives, including leading activities and supporting shared governance at all levels.

• Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education, including population‑specific education.
• Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students across disciplines to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.

• Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement in nursing.
• Participates in value analysis and uses evidence to evaluate patient care products.
• Upholds all system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems' safety absolutes.
• Participates in data collection, poses clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, and consults experts using appropriate resources.

• Proactively plans for the care of patients across the care continuum while providing direct patient care.
• Participates in the development of protocols and procedures when called upon or through self‑initiation to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., decreasing re‑admission rates, avoidable days, adverse events).
• Supports efficient use of human and material resources.

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
